enjoyment of sex for sex’s sake is bad
Is it so surprising that so many women have sexual hangups? From a young age it gets drummed into women’s head that enjoyment of sex for sex’s sake is bad. “Women who enjoy sex are sluts.” This is after all the major reasoning behind female genital mutilation – the myth that “women should not enjoy sex, because they are then a higher risk for infidelity”. Although there is an apparent freedom with regard to sex, the early indoctrination remains. Then of course there are the body image issue. If a woman does not feel good about her physical appearance it inhibits her sexuality. She feels very conscious of getting naked, and rather than getting into the sensaul enjoyment of her body, thinks about what her partner might think about her body.
Rod, to answer the question you asked elsewhere - you know my opinion as regard to one gender being superior to another. Both genders have their strong points and their weak points, and we complement each other beautifully. Why would anyone think themselves superior to another? This comes from a basic lack in self-confidence - having to belittle another to look good.
