Sexual intimacy and breast cancer survivors: New research
An Indiana University study found that young, female breast cancer survivors often suffer from sexual and intimate relationship issues and are interested in using sexual enhancement products to treat these problems. The study, “Young Female Breast Cancer Survivors: Their sexual function and interest in sexual enhancement products and services,” was published Nov. 4 in the journal Cancer Nursing.

Condom use errors frequently reported by rural Indiana men
Condom use errors, such as putting it on wrong or wearing one only part of the time, were frequently reported during a recent survey of rural Indiana men. Loss of erection either before or during sex was the biggest problem associated with condom use, a concern for health experts because it could discourage further condom use by the couples involved.

Please note the following schedule change: The news conference preceding the gala benefit for the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction on Saturday (Nov. 13) will be held at 5 p.m. instead of 4 p.m. The 30-minute news conference will be at 5 p.m. on Nov. 13 in the University Club, which is located in the Indiana Memorial Union on the IU Bloomington campus. Present will be actress Laura Linney, KINSEY writer-director Bill Condon, executive producer Gail Mutrux, and Julia Heiman, director of the Kinsey Institute. Media credentials will be required for the news conference and the 7:30 p.m. screening of KINSEY at the IU Auditorium. The media will not be included in the 6:30 p.m. gala reception. The use of cameras and recording equipment is prohibited during the movie screening.

Hoosiers continue to support condom education in high schools, IU study says
In the midst of an ongoing national debate about condom education in schools, nearly eight out of 10 Hoosiers agree that Indiana public high schools should educate teenagers about how to use condoms to prevent the spread of HIV, according to survey findings from Indiana University. The survey showed little change in this view over the past 10 years.
